A busy day. Nigel Farage announces at 1100 that he intends to put candidates in all Seats unless we ditch the Deal. He claimed that we would not leave the EU under it. That is simply not true and we can and will leave the EU by Dec 2020 if a deal has not been struck. But as both the EU and us are aligned, I hope that a free trade agreement should not be too burdensome. First stop was Lulworth Cove, where I caught up with local fishermen Joe Miller. He's a star and we had a good catch-up. Then to ASDA in Weymouth to sell poppies for a couple of hours, before heading to Portland to meet YOI Governor Steve Hodson. A delightful man, we chatted in private for an hour on all matters prisons. Then back down the hill to Portland Port for a catch-up with CEO Bill Reeves. He has taken the port forward in the most spectacular way and has created many jobs there. The future of the port looks very good indeed. A rather overcast, wet and miserable day.
