A busy day. First stop Swanage. The sun, having reappeared, I was encouraged to take the bike, which is always of benefit as it beats the traffic in most instances. I headed to Cauldron Barn Farm Park, which has been there in one guise or another for decades. I met the managing director of The Berkeley Leisure Group, David Curson, whose company runs both this park and many others. He was accompanied by his son, who, rather wisely, was driving his father's car back to Yeovil, leaving Dad to cycle home! Anyway, David had asked me down to present a certificate to manager Emma Blackwood for her service to the business. She was completely taken aback, as it came with no warning. Some flowers were also presented. Then we set off on a short tour of the site, popping into one of the residential homes on the way round. With tourism very much the theme, I then drove to Knoll House Hotel, which has changed ownership to meet another managing director Nigel Chapman and his team. They have bought the hotel and intend to invest multi-millions of pounds on a major redevelopment, which is most welcome. We had a chat in private for an hour, where I was shown drawings of the new-look hotel and the vision explained. Any investment on this scale in S Dorset is most welcome. Afterwards, I set off for Corfe Castle for another of my regular surgeries. I had a full session and will deal with all the issues as best I can.
