Up early and out into the park for a run. After routine matters, I dropped down to the Chamber to attend a Statement on Northern Ireland. It's very good news that devolved government is now back on track after three long years, with both sides having to make compromises. I had wanted to ask the Minister about protecting our veterans from vexatious claims, but was not called. Two colleagues were called, though, and the answers were satisfactory as far as they went. But we need more certainty and legislation, and soon. The Queen's Speech debate continued in the Chamber until about 1700 when we voted down a Labour amendment. Then it was in the car and back to Dorset in appalling conditions.
