After a routine morning, I went up to CR19 for a private session of our European Scrutiny Committee. We took oral evidence from the Hon Dr Joseph John Garcia CMG, Deputy Chief Minister of Gibraltar. A charming and intelligent man, it was a fascinating 50 minutes. Then down to the Chamber for the last PMQs of the year. It was always going to be pretty rumbustious and so it proved, with Starmer trying his hand at humour - something he finds hard to do. In his opening remarks, he paid tribute to Wales' First Minister Mark Drakeford, who announced he was quitting after five years in the job. Starmer referred to him as a 'Titan', when he is nothing short of an outright Leftie who has brought nothing but misery to Wales. Much to do in the afternoon, not least catch up on the tragic death of a migrant on the barge in Portland Port, who took his own life. The UN's COP28 came to end, with an agreement to "transition away" from fossil fuels. Yes, but only when we have another source of energy that will keep the lights on, drive our cars, heat our homes, is affordable and works! Gary Lineker's name is once more in the press for all the wrong reasons. He really should belt up, or leave the BBC. And Tesla was recalling more than two million cars after the US regulator found its driver assistance system, Autopilot, was partly defective. I'm not a fan of all this autonomous nonsense. Sadly, several people have been killed, it was reported.
