Another depressing day in the Commons, battling the majority of MPs who want to either prevent Brexit or water it down to such an extent that we won't in effect have left the EU at all. A busy morning in Dorset and then up to London in time for yet another Statement by Mrs May. Again, she really had nothing to say, and certainly no change to her Deal, which is nothing more than a surrender document. I was called to ask a question and that is on my website. Mrs May yet again ruled out leaving the EU without a deal, which frankly is the only realistic option now. She has extended our departure date to 12 April without asking us, or the people, and this after repeatedly telling the nation we would be leaving the EU on 29 March. You can kiss that goodbye now! We have been betrayed; there is no other word for it. Cometh the hour, the leader was nowhere in sight. Instead Mrs May continues to pander to Remainers in her Cabinet, Party and across the House. It is deeply humiliating for our country and devastating for our supporters. Meanwhile Conservative MP Oliver Letwin, who once said the referendum result should be respected, was doing his best to take over the Order Paper, breaking parliamentary procedure and dangerously undermining an elected Government. Naturally, this is with the help of the Speaker, who is undermining his own position by being clearly partisan in the Brexit debate. Come the time to vote for or against Letwin's amendment, 30 Tory MPs defied the Whip and the Government was defeated. MPs were angry when it came to Points of Order at the end of a long day and the Speaker was immediately assailed by a barrage of voices when he was unnecessarily rude to my colleague and friend Greg Hands. All control was lost for a time as MPs yelled out "resign", "disgrace" and "apologise". Bercow had no option but to obey the last demand, and he did apologise. It was a sorry end to a disgraceful and shameful day when yet again Remain MPs continued to damage Brexit. Trust in us is now at an all time low, I believe, and unless there are dramatic changes we have a cat in hell's chance of winning the next election.
