Labour MP Rupa Huq was suspended from the Party after she was accused of making "racist" comments about the chancellor. Her stupid remarks, which I will not repeat here, only show the same old Labour Party of envy and unpleasantness is still very much alive and kicking. Sir Keir Starmer did his best to portray a different image of his Party during his conference speech, where, once again, it was clear he believes the State can do it all. What he and other Socialists don't seem to understand is who actually generates all the money they want to throw at their pet projects. Business and all those who make money are simply cash cows to be milked regularly. Nothing changes. Meanwhile, interest rate rises are worrying many of those with mortgages. At 1545 I attended a virtual meeting with Chancellor Kwasi Kwarteng, which was most helpful. He was acutely aware of the rise and was talking to the Governor of the Bank of England regularly. There will be another financial statement on 23 November. Finally, Ukraine accused Russia of causing leaks in two major gas pipelines to Europe in what it described as a "terrorist attack". This is shocking if true.
