A tumultuous day! Following the PM's call for a united Cabinet after deciding on a controversial way forward in the Brexit negotiations last Friday, today saw two resignations: Boris Johnson, the Foreign Secretary, and David Davis, the Brexit secretary himself. As a consequence Government business almost went unnoticed as MPs first let this news sink in and then rallied to their various groups for fevered discussions about what and where next. Like Mr Davis and Mr Johnson, I am extremely unhappy at the Government's new line, which would leave us still as law takers rather than law makers. Where is the vision? The resolve? The self belief? The confidence? After two long years and here we are continuing to capitulate to the very organisation we are trying to leave. It's singularly depressing. Time to regroup and continue the fight to deliver what the British people voted for and what we promised to deliver.
