An early start and then to Weymouth on my motorbike to visit All Saints' School. I've been to the school before, but a letter from a teacher there drew me back again. I had most useful and confidential conversation with Acting Headteacher Ange Wright, Deputy Headteacher Andy Heath and Governor Rachel Stratton. After our chat, Ms Wright took me around the school to show me where investment is much needed. Afterwards, I crossed the causeway to Portland to once again check on the former Serviceman whose house was being refurbished to meet the challenges of his disability. I am glad to report that the project has moved on most positively and it was not right that I should have to rattle cages to get those responsible to sort out what had been a shambles. Back to my office for a late working lunch, before heading to Stoborough Village Hall to attend the Arne Parish Council meeting. I had come to express my concerns about an RSPB project nearby which threatens to build a substantial bund on an existing flood-plain. There are many concerns, not least the risk of flooding to nearby homes. The chairman of the council kindly allowed me to speak for a few minutes, where I reiterated my concerns. Home for a late supper.
