Another most useful and informative meeting with my NFU group, which meets quarterly. The aim has always been to achieve a flow of information between Government and farmers in S Dorset and to a very large extent I'd like to think this initiative works well. Attendance was unusual high on this occasion, which was most welcome, and our session covered a lot of points. Michael Gove's recent speech was commented on by several farmers, who were interested as to the direction of travel post Brexit. I took a fair amount of notes and wrote to both the minister, George Eustice, and Martyn Underhill, our able P&CC. A couple of points on rural crime arose during the meeting that I think he can help with.
