Down to Portland to visit the migrant barge for a second time. I was due there last week, but the visit was postponed until today. Yesterday, the Home Office Select Committee visited. Passing through security, I was met by Dean Link, the Operations Manager. The Port's CEO, Bill Reeves, kindly attended, too. I spent most of the 90 minutes talking to migrants. They had their concerns, not least the time it was taking for their asylum applications. I know the minister Tom Pursglove is due to visit soon. The team on board are doing a good job and, on the whole, the migrants appeared content. Not an easy situation for anyone.
