On to the bike and off down to Weymouth in blustery conditions. Arrived at the Con Club and parked up. Popped in to wish everyone a Happy Christmas and then walked across the road to the Park Inn, run by Carl Williams, a former soldier. There I was met by the lovely Naomi Turner, who is chairman of the local Royal British Legion. Once were all armed with a drink, I made a very short speech, thanking all the sellers, before distributing well earned badges in recognition of the many years individuals had sold poppies. Some like Naomi have done more than 30 years. Remarkable. I stayed on to chat them all and enjoyed a buffet lunch. Such a lovely, lovely team.
