Morning was routine before PMQs. The PM did well, with Corbyn asking some perfectly fair questions. I went off to vote some colleagues on to committees at 1300 before returning to the Chamber to attend the debate on police funding. Minister Nick Hurd, a most able and nice man, was on duty for the government. My speech is on the website, so I will not expand on it any further here. I do have concerns about the direction of travel and have said so on many occasions. But it must be remembered that we inherited a financial shambles from Labour and this will take years to resolve. We cannot spend more than we earn any more. A debate on local government funding followed and I remained in the Chamber for the start of it before returning to my office to tackle the pile of constituency matters. Having spoken earlier, it was unlikely I'd be called again and the list to speak was long.
