After a routine morning, I hopped on to my motorcycle and headed to Portland. I had been asked to officially open the new offices of a company called IT365, based in the marina. They have moved about 100 yards to a very smart complex with a magnificent view of the harbour. I was met by Director James Bull and was soon chatting to other guests. Wandering upstairs, I met and talked to two employees, one of whom had joined the company as an apprentice from the College. The company's main role is to advise and help companies deal with IT issues, like security, and, if they are hacked, to sort it out. After the opening, I wandered out into the sun and chatted to Richard Reddyhoff, a Director with marina company Dean & Reddyhoff. With new investment, the company has expanded, its business now stacking boats and servicing and repairing them. The boat stack was most impressive, rising to an incredible height and costing a bomb! Boatyards are not cheap to run. I then headed to Portland to meet a constituent in confidence at their home. The person I met was charming and had a genuine concern which I was more than happy to intervene on. Then back to the office via the petrol station where I wolfed down an ice cream.
