A busy morning in the office and then down to Weymouth to open the ice rink, organising by the Weymouth Bid and Nigel Reed. I did this last year and was enticed on to the ice to try my hand, or feet, should I say. Slightly wiser this time, I left the expertise to the charming Milly, who glided across the ice in a way I never could! She was also a lot more decorative than me. The Mayor, Cllr Richard Kosior and Mayoress Caroline, his wife, were on hand and all dressed up, and together we cut the ribbon to officially open the rink. The biggest sponsor Dorset Lettings was also represented, along with other smaller sponsors. A few shoppers gathered to watch and were given a treat when the Mayor went A-over-T, much to all our amusement. He had been warned. So, leaving the rink in capable hands I headed off to attend my regular surgery. As always, these cases are in confidence. Then, I begged a room off Andy Prowse, a good friend and supporter, while I changed into a suit for one of our Supper Clubs. I was the guest speaker this time, before which we enjoyed a good supper served up by the willing and friendly staff at The Rembrandt Hotel.
