Up early and into the office after a quick breakfast in order to finish off constituency correspondence before leaving for London. A routine day until mid afternoon when I got some exciting news. The legal team representing former Royal Marine Sergeant Alexander Blackman had secured a bail hearing at 1400 this Friday. If all goes according to plan, Al might well be reunited with his wife, Claire, after the hearing. What a tremendous Christmas that would be for them both and for the many campaigners who have stood by Al now for about three years. We mustn't raise our hopes unduly, but QC Jonathan Goldberg believes we have a good chance of securing bail.
