Began my birthday in the dentist's chair! UGH! Oh well, you can't win them all. The rest of the day went swimmingly, though. Into the Commons and many constituency matters to deal with, not least arranging ministerial meetings for DCH and Dorset Council. PMQs proved a damp squib, with Corbyn walking into walls every time he opened his mouth. Time for him to go. A private lunch with a small group of colleagues, before I dropped in on a visit by the National Federation of Fishermen who were lobbying their case for the UK to take back control of our waters once we have left the EU. There was pragmatism among those I spoke to as well, for they realise that there will have to be some form of reciprocity. The crucial point is that we control our waters and not the EU. With two Opposition debates on-going in the afternoon, I returned to my desk and worked through the afternoon. We voted three times, with the final one at 1900. Understandably, there is growing concern about the coronavirus and the 200 British citizens stuck in the city of Wuhan, where it broke out. No one appears certain just how dangerous this virus is, or how far and quickly it might spread.
