A warm and sunny day. Making the most of it, I headed to Swanage on my motorbike to meet the remarkable Robert Foster. Bob, as he likes to be called, is a Trustee of the Swanage & Purbeck Development Trust, which is based in the former Day Centre in the resort. The Trust has taken a long-term lease from Dorset Council to run a range of services in three buildings which Swanage needs. I met Natasha, who runs a pre-school nursery. A dedicated lady, if ever I met one, and fascinating to chat to. Bob and his team have managed to raise about £200,000 so far, which will be used to create the rooms and space they need inside the buildings. Bob was clearly very passionate about this project and I had no doubt it would prove a huge success. While those operating in it won't have all the answers, the idea is to have somewhere for people to go where they can be signposted to the relevant place to deal with their particular concern. I see people like Bob all over the constituency and they are the most inspirational and selfless contributors that you could wish to meet. I wish the project well and will keep a close and supportive eye on it.
