Lots to do in the morning, before heading to police HQs at Winfrith. There I had one of my regular updates with retiring Chief Constable Debbie Simpson, and PCC Martyn Underhill. I am saddened that Debbie is standing down, but she's had an impressive 35-year run and deservedly achieved the highest rank. We will miss her. Martyn, as always, was most helpful and we chatted for about an hour about a whole range of police matters, not least the alliance with Devon and Cornwall and where that might lead. On the way out, I popped into the Dorset Police Federation and chatted to chairman Tony Tester. Back to the office afterwards for a short time, before heading to Weymouth to talk to students at Weymouth College. We had a most interesting hour, with the students becoming more animated and engaged as the session went on. I was subjected to a wide range of interesting questions. Back to the office until 1900.
