We held our annual AGM at E Burton Village Hall, starting with a bacon buttie at 0930. It was well attended and we had a long session, ending some two hours or so later. Much was discussed as the Chairman and I reported back to Members. Going via Blandford to do one or two chores, I headed to Bournemouth on my motorcycle to meet Andy Price, a former soldier running a charity called Veterans Hub. He and a team of both serving and former soldiers were sleeping out in Bournemouth town square to highlight the issue of former service personnel who suffer from mental health problems of one sort or another. Bearing in mind what our troops have been doing in recent years, and what they have seen, I am not surprised there are some who find themselves severely disadvantage with mental health problems. I stayed in the square for some time, chatting to them all and finding out what can be done to ensure these men and women don't end up on the streets after serving our country. I plan to write to the minister and talk to my friend and parliamentary colleague Johnny Mercer, who is very vociferous on this subject.
