I am sickened at the latest news that another Briton has been beheaded by ISIL.
Alan Henning had committed himself to helping refugees on the Syrian border. Tragically, he was kidnapped and then senselessly slaughtered, we think by a British man called Jihadi John.
I cannot imagine the pain Mr Henning's family is going through. The Prime Minister has rightly condemned this barbaric behaviour and vowed to bring the murderer to justice. Let's hope he can.
Meanwhile, the bombing campaign continues, hopefully giving those on the ground the support they need to take on this appalling organisation. The destruction of ISIL must remain the aim and let's hope it's one that's achievable.
