I listened to the second of the two debates between Nigel Farage and Nick Clegg with interest. I don't want to comment on the two protagonists, but more on the issue itself, that of our relationship with the EU. There is no doubt that Mr Farage has done democracy a huge favour by raising the profile of this vexed question, which so many politicians simply don't want to talk about. I hope that from now on the EU debate will grow ever louder, as the very future of our country hangs on the result of it. The evidence that federalism will never work is there for all to see, with countries like Italy, Greece, Portugal, Spain and even France in terrible trouble economically, restrained in the euro strait-jacket. Had Mr Clegg had his way, we, too, would have succumbed to the euro-con, leaving us at the mercy of Germany's mighty economy. Thank God we kept the pound and a little of our dignity. Now, Mr Cameron must stand up and put our country first. We all know that all attempts to repatriate powers will fail, so there's only course of action left and that's to leave the EU and begin the collapse of this monstrous bureaucracy, because other countries will follow our lead. So, well done Mr Farage for giving democracy, and ultimately our freedom, a voice.
