As the pressure for more homes grows, and immigration - one of the main contributing factors - is not tackled robustly enough, government ministers, we are told by the Daily Telegraph, are supporting calls to remove "the right to enjoy the light". I cannot think of a more basic right - other than to life itself - which is more important. The fear is that this will open the door to anything from home extensions to large developments, reducing values and of course the light, which is key to the enjoyment of any home. We really do have to stop tinkering at the edges and deal with the main issues facing our country, uncontrolled immigration being one of them.
