Diary - cyber attacks by China

The final week before our Easter break. Mondays are always busy, not least catching up on correspondence that's come in over the weekend. At 1420 I was sitting in the Chamber waiting for Defence Questions to begin after Prayers.

Parliamentary Question - cyber security and UK democracy

Bearing in mind all that my right hon. Friend has said, he may be concerned to hear what we have heard in the Defence Committee. English Ministry of Defence companies are having a nightmare in employing those with specialist AI skills from university, because they are all Chinese.

Parliamentary question - defence spending

Diary - a very special man passes away

A run and then a morning of personal admin - hair and dentist - as my platoon sergeant used to say. A catch up with my parliamentary team for an hour and then down to the Chamber for PMQs.

Diary - AI and defence

A damp start to the day. A morning run and into the office. A brief from my parliamentary team, an allocation of tasks and follow-ups, before a virtual surgery meeting with a constituent. The case involved a rogue builder who has caused utter misery to several victims.

Diary - Rwanda Bill heads back to the Lords

Back to the Commons. Today, 10 amendments to the Rwanda Bill had come back from the Lords and we rejected them all. The voting started at 2000 and finished just before 2200. What the Lords would do next with the Bill was anyone's guess.

W2W - integration is key

NEW arrivals to the UK should take an integration course, similar to that used in Germany, says the chairman of the Equality and Human Rights’ Commission.

Lady Falkner told the Sunday Telegraph that we’ve missed a trick in the last 20 years.
