Another busy day at the office. First, my morning jaunt in the park, after which I cycled in to the Commons, which is always a risky exercise as everyone seems intent on running you over. Other cyclists are the worst!
Out for an early morning run and then to the office in pouring rain. After running through the papers and correspondence, I headed to the Wilson Room for another session of our Defence Committee.
Back to the Commons for what looks like a busy week. Today was spent catching up on constituency matters and correspondence. I also spent some time drafting a speech for tomorrow's Budget debate. I estimated I'd only have about five minutes to speak, so worked on that basis.
As we mourn the tragic loss of life in Israel and Gaza, the Prime Minister reminded us last week of the need to fight extremism and heal divisions, so I start today by remembering the Muslims who died in two world wars in the service of freedom and democracy.
Up even earlier this morning so that I could enjoy my morning run and then make it to the Commons in time to bag my seat for PMQs and the Budget. After a full morning, I dropped down to the Chamber at 1130 for prayers.
