The Government has updated its guidance admission to ticketed gardens and other outdoor spaces. We have therefore started the process of reopening some of our pay-for-entry gardens and outdoor estates in England and Northern Ireland for members and visitors. This will happen in stages, with the first set of locations opening to the public on Wednesday 3 June. This is in addition to the carparks that we’ve already reopened, or are in the process of reopening.
Each site is making the judgement based on their individual situation and with the safety of our staff and visitors first in mind. None of our historic buildings will be opening until permitted to by government guidance. All car parks and properties in Wales remain closed in line with Welsh Government guidance.
In order to keep properties safe, only members and visitors who have booked tickets beforehand will gain entry. Timed-entry slots will be available on our website. This will help us to limit the number of visitors on site and help maintain social distancing. The first slots for those opening on 3 June are now available. Further timeslots will be added to our website each Friday, with newly reopening properties added each week. They will be free for Trust members, and other visitors will pay an admission fee as per normal. Sadly if visitors don’t book, they will be turned away.
You can find the initial list of properties that will be reopening here. Individual property pages on our website however remain the best guide to access and facilities information, including reopening, and we’re asking visitors to check these before they travel/make plans. It remains the case that individual properties may need to close or alter plans after reopening for safety reasons.
Finally, with beauty spots and tourist hotspots already experiencing high numbers of visitors, we are encouraging visitors to stay local and explore countryside and green space near them. This will help us to keep places safe for people to access the nature and beauty we all need.
