Richard Drax to meet the Chief Constable

Richard Drax, Conservative MP for South Dorset, is to meet Martin Baker, Chief Constable for Dorset, for the first time since his election victory.

The MP’s commitment to getting more policemen onto the beat is well known and Richard will undoubtedly be working closely with the police in future.

Richard said,’ Having worked with the Chief Constable on several occasions over the past four years as the candidate for South Dorset, I am much looking forward to talking to him about a number of issues, including funding, getting more officers on the beat and the preparations for the 2012 sailing Olympics.’

‘Dorset Police has a history of being severely underfunded and in the current economic climate I’m very concerned that any further cutbacks do not impede the Force’s ability to do its job and keep us safe.’
