Up early and out for a run in the spring sunshine. After a short stint in the office, I walked to College Green for an interview with an on-line television programme called Insight. They were following up on the Alexander Blackman case and asking questions about the ramifications of his trial and imprisonment. They especially asked about what impact, if any, this case would have on our Armed Forces generally. That's a hard question to answer and I am due to see defence minister Mark Lancaster shortly as I want to talk through one or two things. Then it was into the Chamber at midday to listen to David Davis' Statement on what in effect would be the White Paper. In short, he outlined where he saw the UK heading and the aims it would try to achieve during the negotiations. A few Remainers continued with the same-old disparaging lines, but hopefully most sensible people are getting behind our PM now, to wish her and our country well. There's no turning the clock back now. Back to the office and then with the House on one-line I headed back to Dorset.
