I am appalled at the murder of PC Andrew Harper, who died while investigating a suspected burglary. He had left his vehicle when he was struck by a car and dragged along the road for some way by it. A man has been charged. One hears of those working in the emergency services being assaulted all too often and it has to stop. There should be a harsh punishment for anyone who behaves in this manner, not least so that it acts as a deterrent to other like-minded idiots. PC Harper was only married in July to Lissie Beckett, to whom I extend my deepest sympathies and of course his family and friends. It is truly tragic. The Sandbanks ferry continues to take up much of my time and I am trying to organise a meeting with a few local residents and ferry MD Mike Kean.
