Today was my wife's birthday. But that did not prevent me from attending the funeral of long-time supporter Norman Randall, a farmer from Stoborough. He was one of the those special country men, who worked the land all their lives, with a devoted family and many friends. The Service was held at St Mary's in Wareham. It was taken by the Reverend Jane Williams, the former Matron at the local hospital, and the Reverend Hugh Maddox, who has now retired but still reappears to help out after many years as the former excellent and dedicated parish priest. Norman's two sons, David and Philip, both gave touching eulogies and the hymns were all old favourites. A lot of people attended, as you'd expect, and we all enjoyed listening to stories about a remarkable family man and farmer. Norman was also a loyal supporter of our Association, as is his lovely wife, who survives him. The family is the salt of the earth and we shall miss Norman tremendously.
