The highlight in a busy day was visiting the church in Corfe Castle, which was preparing for Remembrance Sunday. They have acquired one of these steel soldiers and secured it firmly in the church grounds. Today one of the Wardens was joined by children from the local primary school who had planted some wooden crosses in the ground around the figure. On each cross the children had written the name of individual soldiers from the village who had died during WW1. It was very touching and we all enjoyed the short session while basking in the autumn sun.
