An early start as BBC Radio Solent wanted to talk to me about last night's Article 50 vote at 0705! Then out for a run and then into the House. A routine morning before I entered the Chamber at 1230 to listen to the PM's statement on her EU meeting. It was quite a raucous affair as the SNP came under fire for calling for another referendum on independence. I'm afraid I poured fuel on the flames by accusing the SNP of leading the people of Scotland, like lemmings, over the cliffs to economic ruin, which is what Scotland would face were it to leave the UK. I added that SNP politicians were being totally irresponsible. They rose to this point, naturally, but they don't like to hear the truth. I then remained in the Chamber for the last day's Budget Debate. I was called about fifth on our side and had eight minutes to speak. My speech is on the website. The debate ended at 1900 with several votes.
