Another interesting day, beginning with some physio! Into the House, follow through on the morning routine of coffee, croissant, papers, emails, letters and phone calls. Busy at my desk until 1130 when I dropped down to the Chamber and showed Lillian Broad to her place for PMQs. She's a young woman who is spending two days with us. Mr Corbyn had all his ammunition taken off him right at the start of PMQs when the PM told the House that she would publish a White Paper for triggering Article 50. You could see Mr Corbyn desperately scrabbling around for more ammo, but finding precious little. He did not do well during this session, sounding more like an angry protester than a future PM, which I think he never will be. So, a White Paper to be published and then Parliament to push the Bill through in the next few days. The former should allay the concerns of one or two of my colleagues, who were calling for a White Paper. Well, they have one now. I should imagine it will mirror the PM's recent speech on this very topic, where she laid out very clearly what her objectives were for the country. A working lunch and then to our European Scrutiny Committee, which was held in private. Some interesting facts were presented, but I'm afraid I cannot reveal at this stage. Later in the afternoon I went to sign the Holocaust Memorial Book, which the PM herself was queuing up to sign when I arrived. I don't normally follow along like a sheep, but in this instance I had no reservations but to sign a book which reminds us all of the evil than man is capable of and sadly continues to happen in various guises today. The last vote was at 1900 and then back to Dorset. While I do that the PM heads to the US to meet the new President, the first western leader to do so. Should be most interesting!
