With four friends from abroad staying, my day was spent juggling them and constituency matters. News on the floods continues to dominate the headlines, and understandably so. The emergency services are working round the clock and doing a wonderful job. More rain is expected this week, which is not good. Several friends in the Commons have been promoted to ministerial posts and I wish them all well. George Eustice, the new Efra Secretary of State, really has landed up to his neck in water! But he's been in the Department for some years now and will know his way around. There's a lot of coverage on Love Island presenter Caroline Flack, who committed suicide recently. It's a tragic story and my deepest sympathies extend to her family and friends.
