I am delighted that the green light has at last been given for a new special free school, which I hope will be located on Portland. This has been in the pipeline for some time and, if the final location is Portland, it will be welcome news for the parents of children with special needs in and around Weymouth and Portland. The school is expected to cater for up to 75 students, aged 14-19, with autism and complex learning difficulties. As well as where the school will be located, it's still not known when it will open. or which academy trust will run it. The school will be one of 37 new schools across the country. Some typical politicking by the Socialists regarding the future of the NHS saw a small flurry of emails. During the course of the Trade Bill, they put down an amendment which stated the NHS would not feature in any new trade deals, especially with the US. I can reassure everyone that it won't. The Bill only deals with continuity trade agreements carrying over from those already in place as an EU member, purely to ensure trade continues as before. It has nothing to do with future trade deals. The Government has stated that the NHS will never be on the table in any trade deal under this Government, and that includes the price we pay for drugs. In coronavirus news, care home residents in England can begin to be reunited with one of their loved ones, the government has said, as it publishes new guidance. Visits will resume in care homes once local authorities and local public health directors say it is safe. Residents will be limited to seeing the same one visitor, where possible, the guidance says. Interestingly, Labour has agreed to pay "substantial" damages to seven former employees who sued the party in an anti-Semitism row. The party issued an unreserved apology in the High Court for making "false and defamatory" comments about seven whistle-blowers who spoke out in a BBC Panorama programme last year. The individuals had criticised the then leadership's handling of complaints. In foreign affairs, the UK and the US have agreed to amend an "anomaly" that allowed Harry Dunn death suspect Anne Sacoolas to claim diplomatic immunity. Mrs Sacoolas - the wife of a diplomat at RAF Croughton, Northamptonshire - was able to leave the UK thanks to the "secret agreement". She has been accused of killing the 19-year-old in a crash near the base. It is a very sad case.
