Into the Commons by 0800 for a meeting with the Chief Whip that I'd asked for. Although the conversation was in private, I can say the subject was the future of farming. I had asked Neil Parish and Owen Paterson to accompany me. Justice Questions was followed by an Urgent Question on the future of Flybe and then there was a Statement on Iran by the Foreign Secretary. In short, there is mounting evidence that Iran is not following the nuclear agreement and concerns grow that the regime continues to make a nuclear bomb. This cannot be allowed, although the West appears unable to prevent this, despite triggering the dispute resolution mechanism. I did catch the Speaker's eye and my question and rather unsatisfactory answer are on my website. Then on to the Queen's Speech, where I sat for some hours trying to speak. At about 1730 I was told there were too many maiden speeches to get in and I was not going to be called. At 1630 I had attended a regular private meeting with colleagues. I will attempt to speak tomorrow.
