It was a day spent on the telephone, writing emails and dealing with enquiries. Each statement by the Government raises many questions and people are turning in every direction to try and find an answer. On my website now is some advice and contact details from the Treasury. I will continue to put all relevant information on my site in the hope it gets the Government's messages out. We hear that the Chancellor is to make a further statement tomorrow on employees and the provision of cash. Bearing in mind the sums involved, distributing it is going to be headache. But it's crucial that cash gets to where it's needed as fast as possible. Tomorrow morning, I have a conference call with the council, along with MP colleagues, to hear how they are coping and to ask any questions that we may have. Like you, there's a bewildering amount we do not know, but I am sure the picture will clear shortly. The Government is facing a massive task and I know everyone is working flat out to meet the many challenges. This hording by a few is depressing. There is plenty of food and loo paper and people really must be less selfish. For supermarkets to have opening times for the elderly shows how low some have sunk. The PM's daily press conference at about 1715 was more bullish today, with Mr Johnson saying he hoped to be really cracking this virus in 12 weeks' time. Let's hope so. I would like to say thank you to all those in the public sector who are doing such a fantastic job. We've also heard that about 20,000 troops have been put on standby in the event they are needed.
