Up early and out into the park for a run. Into the office and dealt with the routine matters. At 1230 I went into the Chamber for an Urgent Question on a leaked report that claims leaving the EU will damage the country economically. Labour naturally jumped on the band wagon, pushing for the document to be released in full. Minister Steve Baker did a fine job at the Despatch Box, rightly telling MPs that the Government would not be publishing information that would damage the national interest as negotiations with the EU continue apace. Later in the afternoon I and colleagues went to No 9 Downing Street to discuss Brexit with a Government minister. What was discussed is confidential. A meeting in the evening with DCLG Sec of State Sajid Javid was cancelled and changed to tomorrow. In the Chamber HS2 was once again being discussed. I do not agree with this project, as I feel the money could be better spent.
