The highlight of my day was to meet a new charity called Ansbury Guidance. To do this, I headed to Kingland Road in Poole, where the charity has its main office. There I met Nicola Newman and Tom Grainger, the charity's CEO and Chairman, respectively. The charity's aim is to help young people into work. They do that by educating young people; you could say empowering young people via advice, mentoring and working with several other volunteer organisations. The charity is currently funded by Dorset County Council, is the local provider of the National Careers Service for adults and provides a contracted careers service to 29 secondary schools. The charity has 75 part time staff, some of whom I met. They are clearly dedicated and do a wonderful job. Any organisation that concentrates its efforts to getting young people into work has my full backing. Other matters throughout the day kept me very busy.
