Up early and out into the park in warm, spring sunshine. Into the office and some routine matters, which included a lesson on how to use my Ipad! Into the Chamber at 1130 to get a seat for PMQs and then the PM's update on this appalling murder attempt in Salisbury. PM was on good form and she responded well to Corbyn, who attacked on the NHS. At about 1240, Mrs May rose again to make her statement. Like Monday, she gave a superb performance, striking exactly the right balance and tone. Details of what Mrs May said are on this website. Once again, Corbyn misjudged the mood of the House and gave his second appalling address in three days. Labour MPs behind him were clearly shocked and many shook their heads. I feel sorry for them as Momentum will no doubt target those who dare oppose their great leader! We know that some Labour MPs who spoke out in Monday's debate were targeted for abuse. It really is appalling and Corbyn is in charge of a Party riven with bullying and what is clearly intimidation. I just hope that the public understand what Corbyn really stands for, and I can tell you it is not the country's best interest. I had to leave the Chamber for the weekly session of our European Scrutiny Committee. This was a lengthy session as we went through endless amendments to a report we are doing on Brexit. It was held in private so you will have to wait for the report to be published soon. In the afternoon, Labour's Kate Hoey, who'd also been in this committee meeting, emailed to ask me to move her car into the underground car park. She'd left in a hurry to catch a plane. I found myself squeezing into an original Mini, which caused a lot of merriment with her parliamentary assistant, who'd handed me the keys. Hopping and bumping my way round to the front gate, I managed to navigate this little beast into a car parking space without mishap. The car is Kate's love! Then back to the office to write my weekly newspaper column and catch up on a mass of constituency correspondence.
