A rather gloomy, drizzly morning set the mood as I headed up to London to attend the funeral of an old mate. Like a handful of other friends, he fought valiantly against cancer to the end. A very touching Memorial Service was held in a large church which, was as well, as hundreds of people attended. Three excellent eulogies, including one from his wife, reminded us all of his extraordinary life, not least the latter half where he did so much for various charities. He was the best of the best and will be sorely missed, not least by his lovely family. My mood was not helped as the traffic out of London was horrendous.
