A morning in the office and then back to London. A three-line whip imposed from 2100 turned out to be a damp squib, with business ending at about 1900. I learnt that I had at last been drawn for a Westminster Hall (WH) debate on a prison initiative started by Sir James Spicer when he was MP for West Dorset. In simple terms, it involves sending prisoners out onto Dartmoor and giving them a range of outdoor challenges in an attempt to forge some camaraderie, responsibility and selflessness into those who are near release and of course have been selected appropriately. This is not a course for rapists, for example. The debate will be held in WH next Wednesday, starting at 1430. Plenty of other constituency matters to deal with today as well.
