A busy morning working through constituency matters until 1100. Then a virtual meeting with two officials from NHS Dorset to talk about issues at Wyke Surgery in Weymouth. I had instigated the meeting after concerns raised by constituents. It was a useful and informative meeting and they explained how they were supporting the surgery, which, like so many, are struggling. I also raised dentistry, or the lack of it, as I was participating in a Westminster Hall debate on that topic at 1430. I was shocked to hear that 300 children were waiting for treatment which had to be done under general anaesthetic at DCH their teeth were so bad. Back to my office to work on my speech before dropping down to the Chamber to attend PMQs. Starmer was on better form today and even tried humour! At 1415 I entered Westminster Hall and joined my colleague, W Dorset MP Chris Loder, whose debate it was. For 90 minutes about 12 MPs debated dentistry in the south west and it became very obvious that provision was poor throughout. We urged the minister to review the contract which is badly flawed. We were assured at the end, he would. We shall see. My speech is on the website. Meanwhile, Lords amendments to the EU Law Revocation Reform Bill was debated in the Chamber. There were several votes just after 1800. In Cardiff the police confirmed for the first time that officers were following two boys whose deaths just minutes later sparked a riot. And sadly one of my favourite singers, Tina Turner, died at the age of 83 after a long illness. A great loss to the music world. She really was the best. And abroad police were spotted digging a new area of woodland, as the search for Madeleine McCann continued at a remote reservoir in Portugal.
