Following a morning run, I spent most of the morning working on my speech for the Adjournment Debate that I'd called. I told my constituents during the election campaign that I would do this, so I was not only presenting mine and many other people's views on the future of the NHS, but I was honouring a commitment. My friend and colleague Philip Dunne represented the Government and, as always, he replied to my points knowledgeably and helpfully. He is an outstanding minister. My speech is on the website, so I will not expand on it here, other than to say that the thrust was to make the point that there must be a more efficient way of running the NHS and therefore spend our money more wisely.
