Up early and into the office. Down to Weymouth at 1200 to meet HeliOps CEO Steve Gladston and Tri-Council CEO Matt Prosser. The purpose of the meeting was twofold. One was get an update on how the commercial helicopter company was coping at its new base and, two, to hear how Steve was dealing with a handful of complaints about aircraft noise. After a chat we headed to the Cove for an excellent lunch, sitting in the sunshine. I do recommend the inn to anyone. The food was superb while the setting is stunning. Afterwards, I headed to a meeting with Portland Port's CEO Bill Reeves. A charming and most able operator, he briefed me on new and exciting plans for the business, not least the record number of cruise ships that are planned this year. The Port is a very important employer and it's vital that we nurture activities here and encourage and support new ones.
