Up to London after a brief stint in the office. Two meetings dominated the day. The first was with the Chief Whip at 1630. A team of us went on one of our regular meetings to have a chat in confidence about issues such as Brexit. Then it was back to the Commons for another meeting of the ERG, with its new chairman, my friend and colleague Jacob Rees-Mogg. Again, this meeting was held in confidence, so I cannot report what was said. The day came to an end at 1900.
