The House is not sitting today as the State Opening of Parliament was postponed until tomorrow. However, the shock and horror following the horrific Grenfell Tower fire continues. Many questions remain unanswered, not least whether the cladding on the side of the building was legal and met building regulations. I am sure checks will now be rolled out across the country to reassure those living in tower blocks that they are safe. I feel this terrible incident is a milestone, not least in social housing. Spend a lot of the day dealing with many constituents' letters and emails. Up to London in the evening.
