Two years in May, and representing South Dorset as your MP continues to prove rewarding, challenging and inspiring.

I have enjoyed meeting so many of you and hope to meet many more. I understand that what we have in South Dorset is special and I want to help to keep it that way. I have backed campaigns to retain the Portland search and rescue helicopter, the Coastguard co-ordination centre and school crossing patrols and am involved in initiatives to reform the European Arrest Warrant and fishing quotas. I will not stop there.

I have spoken up for keeping our defences strong and our borders secure. I believe our businesses need lower taxes and a helping hand. I continue to speak out whenever possible against the creeping influence of the EU. We must not be sucked any further into a federal Europe. We must instead reclaim our laws, our finances and our sovereignty.

Above all, I will listen to what you tell me and act on your behalf. I undertake to represent you and your concerns fairly and honestly, no matter what your politics are. And I consider it a privilege to do so.

Save Our Life Savers Your MP Richard Drax is doing all that he can to save the Portland search and rescue helicopter. He is working hard within government, including the Prime Minister, to ensure that this iconic and invaluable asset is retained. He'd like to make it clear that this is not a political issue and urges all constituents to sign the campaigner's petition, which you can find here
