Up early, into the office for a short while and then off to Weymouth College for our last meeting before the second Apprenticeship Fair on 9 March. Patricia Bradshaw has worked wonders on the fair, liaising with schools and businesses and doing all the paperwork in preparation for the day. I cannot praise her enough. We are better targeting the fair this time, hoping to attract students who are really interested in an apprenticeship. Sir Digby Jones will no doubt give another belter of a speech, inspiring all attendees as he did last time. Our meeting lasted for about two hours and then it was over to Portland for a photograph with the Island Community Action team ahead of the London Marathon. The local paper kindly sent a photographer and he quickly knocked off one or two shots. I had to leap into running kit for the occasion, stripping off in a back office before emerging to much amusement. I did have time for a bacon and sausage sandwich at the excellent outlet opposite the charity. I cannot resist them. It was time to head home to host a fundraising dinner. Our guest speaker was Bernard Jenkin, who gave an excellent address. It was a fun evening and well attended.
