Spring has sprung! And this morning's run was the best one this year. Warm at last. Into the Commons and the normal round of duties, letters, emails etc. PMQs was interesting. It seemed that Mr Corbyn was forced on to the back foot and it was he who ended up answering questions about his links to Hamas, who he has referred to in the past as his "friends". While Mr Corbyn attempted to keep the initiative with his own questions, the Prime Minister kept on coming back to Hamas. In the end, Mr Corbyn did explain his use of the word and said Mr Cameron was taking it out of context. All this on the back of the recent anti-Semmite saga that has rocked Labour in recent days. A quick sandwich at my desk and then to a committee room for our weekly session with the European Scrutiny Committee. The first part was in private, but then we took oral evidence from Dame Margaret Beckett MP, who's held three prominent jobs in the Cabinet between 1997 and 2007. We were asking her about the transparency of the Council of the European Union and the session, which was in public, was most interesting. Dame Margaret is an impressive woman and I have always respected her. She came across well in our session, answering our questions succinctly. I wrote my weekly column for Friday's local paper and spent some time on constituency concerns before we dropped to a one line whip and I headed out into the traffic for Dorset.
