Back in Dorset after an interesting first parliamentary term. I had a lot of casework, correspondence and campaign issues to deal with. Fighting to save Kingfisher Ward at DCH continues apace behind the scenes, working closely with the hospital's MP, the very able Oliver Letwin. The CCG has postponed its consultation, not least because of the points we have raised. There is much more to think through before it asks the public for its comments. The Chancellor's announcement that another £20 billion of savings have to be found within Government departments has caused a furore, with both Labour and the SNP disagreeing vehemently with the proposal. Personally, we must roll back the State if we are to live within our means at last. We cannot afford to go on spending and spending or we'll end up like Greece. I am not sure where the summer's gone, but cloud and rain forecast!
